A group of 170 disabled school children from Sadvichar Parivar near Gandhi Nagar today Called on the Union Home Minister, Shri L.K. Advani at his residence, here. The children are on a educational tour to important places of Northern India.

Addressing the children on the occasion, Shri Advani highly praised the efforts of Sadvichar Parivar for the all round development of the disabled children. Some of the children introduced to Shri Advani, though without hands and legs were highly talented in their educational persuit and other skilled development activities in the Sadvichar Parivar school. Two such children were Patani Paresh who is in the 5th class and has lost two hands and two legs. He is one of the most intelligent boys and presents his ideas and studies by writing through the mouth. Another is Manoj Vigare who without his hands could write his 11th Class examination by writing with the help of his mouth and secured the highest percentage in the school with 72% marks. He is also gifted with the quality of drawing and arts, that also he does with the brush in his mouth.

Meeting with these disabled children, he said, he is one of the pleasant moments in his life and more so when all the children are drawn from his Parliamentary Constituency of Gandhinagar.

Referring to the happenings in Gujarat after the Godhra incident the Home Minister said because of the developments people in the country and abroad have developed ill feeling. He said Gujarat is the most peaceful State and the people are very friendly with a human touch. Even in countries like America they have earned a name for themselves because of their togetherness and friendly behaviour. Many great persons and saints born in Gujarat including Swami Dayananda have contributed to the national integration and unity of India. But the recent happenings have cast a shadow on this bright image. He also said that in the meeting he had with the MPs of Gujarat, yesterday evening, they have taken a pledge to make all out efforts for restoring peace and normalcy in Gujarat and reinforce that the Gujrati people are peace-loving. He hoped that it will not be far when peace will be restored in the troubled State.

The children also presented Shri Advani an appeal signed by them in their Blood for restoration of peace in Gujarat. The Home Minister was emotionally touched when he received the appeal. The Union Minister, Shri Harin Pathak who is also the MP from Ahmedabad was present on the occasion.
