STEPS TO SECURE BETTER WORKING
CONDITIONS FOR FEMALE WORKERS IN THEIR WORKPLACE
As a commitment to
secure better working conditions for female workers in their workplaces,
the Government has initiated a number of steps in this direction:-
- Guidelines for the prevention
of sexual harassment of women employees in their work places
- The industrial Employment (Standing
Orders) Central Rules amended to make the guidelines applicable
to employees in the private sector.
- A grants-in-aid scheme for the
welfare of women labour for awareness generation and skill training
implemented through voluntary organizations.
- With a view to having a more focussed
approach on the subject in the 10th Plan, an enhanced
outlay of Rs. 2.25 crore has been earmarked for the scheme.
