FIRST WORLD COUNCIL OF ELDERS OF ANCIENT TRADITION AND CULTURE MET AT MUMBAI


The first International Council of the World Council of Elders of Ancient Tradition and Culture met at Mumbai today. In the Council, 41 different countries are participating from all over the World and 208 delegates from different tradition and culture namely, Masai, Julus, Kikuyus from Africa, Hopies, Moyas, Incas from America are representing in that Council. North-East States OF India are also participating in the Council. About 108 papers are to be presented in the International meet to discuss different culture tradition and custom. Besides, cultural programmes are also being organised from today till 9th of February, 2003.

The Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram inaugurated the International Meet and deliberated on the assimilation of different tribal culture and traditions for their preservation and social upliftment.
