A Reasonable Man U K 1999, 35 mm, colour, Sean Raine, and his wife Jennifer, share a roadtrip through the Zululand wilderness in South Africa. They come across a tragic scene at a Zulu village: a babys head has been hacked open, allegedly by a Zulu herdboy, Sipho, who stands guiltily. When Sean finds out that the boy is convinced he killed not a baby but a tikoloshe, an evil spirit much feared in the local Zulu culture, he decides to defend young Siphos case, pleading innocence rather than insanity.DIRECTOR : GAVIN HOOD Gavin Hood is a professional Johannesburg based actor, who has worked extensively in the theatre and television. He studied screenwriting and directing at the University of California. In 1955 British Screen Finance Ltd., London gave him a development loan for the script of A Reasonable man, which is his debut feature.
