The
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship,
Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Sarbananda Sonowal has said that Sports Authority
of India (SAI) implements various Sports Promotional Schemes, the details of
which are as under:-
1. National Sports
Talent Contest (NSTC)
2. Army Boys Sports
Companies (ABSC)
3. SAI Training
Centre (STC)
4. Special Area
Games (SAG)
5. Extension Centres
of STC/SAG
6. Centres of
Excellence (COE)
In a written
reply in the Rajya Sabha today Shri Sonowal said, the trainees selected under
SAI Schemes are provided boarding and lodging, sports kit, competition
exposure, educational allowance, medical and insurance as per scheme norms. The
stadium-wise funds spent by SAI on the maintenance of stadia during the last
three years is as under:
