Day Four of “Vanaj”- National Tribal Festival- 2015

The Fourth  day of  first National Tribal Festival “VANAJ”-2015  will see the screening of documentary Films  titled  “For a Dorbar of people(Meghalaya)and  “Jharkhand ke gaurav:Chero”  on Monday ( 16.02.2015) from 3pm to 5.30 pm.   In addition a seminar discussion is being organized from 3.30  p.m  to  5.00  p.m wherein  eminent  panelists  will  deliberate on the topic   ‘Traditional Tribal Medicine and Healing system’. For both , the venue will be Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) auditorium, Rajendra Prasad Road, New Delhi.


These activities are a part of the Ministry of Ministry of Tribal Affairs initiatives  to organise the first National Tribal Festival – 2015 ‘VANAJ’  in New Delhi from 13th to 18th February, 2015. It is the same time when spring time tribal festivals of  Phagu,Phagua and Phagun Parab, ‘VANAJ’ celebrates tribal life and creates an opportunity for  the people of Delhi to appreciate the rich and diverse tribal culture. The festival show cases India’s unique Tribal culture, art, painting, music, dance, tribal medicine, tribal crops, tribal food, and a special attraction- tribal cuisine!  The festival is being simultaneously held at three venues i.e Central Park-Cannaught Place, Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts and Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi.

Entries to all the venues are free. Visitors to the festival venues in Cannaught Place i.e Central Park and Baba Kharak Singh Marg are requested to park their vehicles at NDMC authorized parking slots only.
