Vice President greets people on the eve of Vaisakhi, Vishu, Puthandu, Masadi, Vaishkhadi and Bahag Bihu

The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has greeted people on Vaisakhi, Vishu, Puthandu, Masadi, Vaishkhadi and Bahag Bihu. In a message, he said that these festivals which celebrate the birth of a new year, serve as harbingers of a better quality of life. Associated with harvests, these festivals celebrate the vitality and abundance of nature, he added.

Following is the text of Vice President's message:

"I convey my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the joyous occasion of ‘Vaisakhi, Vishu, Puthandu, Masadi, Vaishkhadi and Bahag Bihu’.

These festivals which celebrate the birth of a new year, serve as harbingers of a better quality of life. Associated with harvests, these festivals celebrate the vitality and abundance of nature. They are a true reflection of the richness and the diversity of Indian culture and a testament to the deep reverence our civilization has for nature.

May these festivals bring peace, harmony, prosperity and happiness in our country."
