International Crude Oil Price of Indian Basket Registers Sharp Increase on 30.08.2012 to US$ 111.23/BBL

The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas went up sharply to US$ 111.23/barrel (bbl) on 30.8.2012.  The price was slightly higher than US$ 110.62 /bbl on 29.08.2012, the last trading day.

 

In rupee terms also, the crude oil price increased to Rs 6189.95 per bbl on 30.08.2012 as compared to Rs 6158.22 per bbl on 29.08.2012. This was primarily due to rise in price in dollar terms the  rupee appreciated marginally with rupee-dollar exchange rate on 30.08.2012 at Rs 55.65 /US$ against Rs 55.67 /US$ on 29.08.2012.
