Industries for Rural Women
GOVERNMENT OF INDIA

 

Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and Coir Board implement a number of schemes for the holistic development of the khadi, village industries and coir sectors. Women beneficiaries are included in all such schemes.

KVIC is implementing the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) for setting up of micro-enterprises in which women and other special category beneficiaries are provided margin money subsidy at a higher rate of 35 per cent in rural areas and 25 per cent in urban areas in comparison to 25 per cent and 15 per cent respectively for other general category beneficiaries.
