Skill Develoment Targets

                 Government has approved National Policy on Skill Development in February, 2009, a guiding document for Skill Development Programmes in the Country.  The policy has set a target of skilling 500 million persons by the year 2022. Training target for all Ministries / Departments, offering training programmes for sectors under their control, have been indicated in policy document. A statement containing details in this regard is at Annex-I. Government has set up National Skill Development Coordination Board under the Chairmanship of Deputy Chairman Planning Commission to coordinate skill development activities in the country.              

                                                                                                       

      The Union Labour & Employment Minister Shri Mallikarjun Kharge gave this information in a written  reply  in  Lok  Sabha today.
