The Scheme for integrated Textile Park (SITP) is demand driven Scheme


The Scheme for integrated Textile Park (SITP) is demand driven Scheme. Proposals are accepted through the 8 empanelled Project Management Consultants. Three Proposals have already been approved in Punjab under SITP. In addition 15 such textile parks have been approved under SITP in the State of Maharashtra, 8 Parks in Gujarat and 7 Parks in Andhra Pradesh.


The details of the approved Parks in the concerned states are enclosed at Annexure-I.


Loans are not provided to cotton farmers under TUFS. It is a scheme to provide financial assistance for modernization and up gradation of textile industry. 


India has so far exported 82.57 Lakh bales of cotton. 52.789 Lac bales have been exported to China and 6.617 Lac bales have been exported to Pakistan.


Government has formulated the National Fiber Policy with a decadal perspective, envisaging an annual growth rate of 7 percent for cotton fiber in period 2010-20. The recommendations of the National Fiber Policy have been incorporated into 12th Plan (2012-17) with specific financing provisions.
