| Contingency Plans to deal with Water Scarcity |
LOK SABHA
The Contingency Management Plan/Frameworks(CMP) has been finalized by the Drought Management Division, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture in consultation with various Ministries/Departments and CMPs have been circulated to State Governments.
Central Water Commission monitors storage position of 81 important reservoirs of the country on daily basis and reports are provided to “ Crop Weather Watch Group” of the Ministry of Agriculture, which issues necessary advisory to State authorities for crop planning strategies. Necessary actions related to water management are undertaken by respective State Governments.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Water Resources, Shri Vincent H. Pala in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
