compatible with model rules circulated by Government of India. The names of the

The Government undertakes awareness
programmes through print and electronic media and reviews implementation of the
Act with State Governments from time to time. National Commission for Women
(NCW) has also been organising seminars, workshops,
conferences and public hearing on various issues concerning women including
dowry. These efforts are also being supplemented by the State Governments at
State level.
This was stated by the Minister for Women and Child
Development, Smt. Krishna Tirath
in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today.
