The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as
computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC)
under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas recorded a sharp increase to US$
104.64/barrel (bbl) on 19.7.2012.The price was higher than US$ 102.72/bbl
on the previous trading day of 18.7.2012.
In rupee terms also, the crude oil price increased to Rs 5794.96 per bbl on 19.07.2012 from Rs 5684.52 per bbl on 18.07.2012. This was mainly due
to increase in crude oil price in dollar terms as also marginal rupee depreciation contributing with
rupee-dollar exchange rate on 19.07.2012 at Rs 55.38 /US$
against Rs 55.34 /US$ on 18.07.2012.
