The
Government of India has been setting annual target for the flow of credit to
the agriculture sector. The targets fixed during the last 2 years and for the
current year, i.e., 2012-13, and achievement there against are as under:

The Kisan Credit Card (KCC) has emerged as an innovative
credit delivery mechanism to meet the production credit requirements of the
farmers in a timely and hassle-free manner. The KCC Scheme has been revised in
May 2012 and banks have been advised to issue Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) to all
eligible farmers.
This information
was given by the Minister of State for Finance, Shri Namo
Narain Meena, in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
