Through two mega schemes, the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) and the National Food Security Mission (NFSM), the Central Government has significantly increased support to agriculture. The graphic shows constant rise in expenditure under these schemes since their inception. 2012-13 figures are provisional and 2013-14 figures are budget estimates.

A target of 700,000 crore agricultural credit from institutional sources has been fixed for 2013-14 as announced by the Finance Minister in the budget.
