VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION CENTRE EQUIPS ITSELF TO ISSUE SUITABLY CERTIFICATES EXPEDITIOUSLY TO PWDS AFTER 10TH AND 12TH RESULTS
The Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for Handicapped has announced that it would put in place the system to expeditiously prepare the suitability certificates required by the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) for seeking admissions in ITIs, polytechnics and other educational institutes like NIFT, DCE, IP University, Delhi University, College of Arts, District Institution of Education Training (DIET) etc . “This certificate will be prepared after proper evaluation in our workshops”, the Vocational Rehabilitation Centre said in a statement issued here today.
The Centre which works under the Directorate General Employment & Training, Ministry of Labour and Employment, is expecting a large number of aspirants seeking the suitability certificates after the announcement of results for class X and XII.
The Vocational Rehabilitation Centre has also offered to impart training to the persons with disabilities, who are not suitable to seek admission in ITIs and polytechnics due to over-age or other ineligibilities. The training will be imparted free of cost to such PWDs and would prove to be helpful in getting suitable jobs in the private sector besides equipping the trainee for self – employment.
The Centre also advised those PWDs who have passed the ITIs and polytechnics, to register their name for jobs and those who are already registered, should add their qualification as early as possible.
The Rehabilitation Centre also offered its free training modules for those PWDs who have applied for any competitive exams for preparing and improving typing speed and preparation for interview etc.
At present 20 Vocational Rehabilitation Centres for Handicapped have been functioning one each at Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Patna, Puducherry, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Una, and Vadodara. Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for Handicapped at Vadodara is exclusively for the disabled women. etc.
