The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has expressed shock and grief over the passing away of the famous Kannada actor, Shri Raj Kumar.
In a message, the Prime Minister described him as a versatile personality who has enthralled the Nation with his histrionic talents and his mellifluous voice over past five decades or more. In his death, the world of Indian cinema has lost a distinguished actor, whose achievements would be remembered for a long time to come.
The Prime Minister conveyed his sincere condolences to members of Shri Raj Kumar’s family.
