Centre keeping close watch over situation following Delhi blasts Shivraj Patil expresses Government’s resolve to foil designs of terrorists

The Centre is keeping a close watch on the situation arising out of the blasts which took place near Jama Masjid in Delhi today. The Home Minister, Shri Shivraj Patil is in close touch with the Commissioner of Police of Delhi and other senior officials. Security has been beefed up in the Capital. The situation is under control. The Home Minister visited the site of the blasts and the injured at the hospital. Strongly condemning the blasts, Shri Patil described them as an attempt of desperate elements to disturb peace and harmony and spread fear among the people. Shri Patil expressed the Government’s resolve to foil the designs of the terrorists and appeal to people to remain calm. OK/TFK/SK
