The Chief Minister of Jharkhand Shri Madhu Kora called on the Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T.R. Baalu here this evening and discussed various issues relating to road development in the State.
The Chief Minister requested Thiru Baalu to consider sanction of Ring Road around Ranchi as the State and its Capital are catering to very heavy commercial traffic due to transportation of minerals and steel which has necessitated construction of this Ring Road. The Minister directed that the State Government may get the DPR prepared on NHAI standards and the same should be sent to the Government of India for implementation under the appropriate Government approved NHDP.
Thiru Baalu directed to consider upgradation of NH-33 stretch between Jamshedpur and Bahragora and to prepare DPR for the same. At present, upgradation of NH-33 to 4-lane between Barhi to Jamshedpur is included in NHDP-Phase III.
Thiru Baalu told the Chief Minister that to improve the road condition of NH-75 between Ranchi and Jaintgarh, works would be sanctioned during the current year itself. On the Chief Minister’s request, Thiru Baalu agreed to restore the funds recently curtailed due to less expenditure upto 31st December last year. He told Shri Kora that upgradation of NH-98 and NH-75 to two-lane will be considered for inclusion in NHDP-Phase IV.
