Immunization (PPI) during the last three years are given below. NVBDCP consists

Except in
respect of Polio, there has been no reduction in allocation. In the case of Polio, a lower allocation was
made in 2005-06 on account of lower reported cases of Polio in 2004 and the resultant
reduction in the number of National Immunization Days (NIDs) from 3 to 2 during
2005-06. Higher allocation
of funds has been earmarked for control of these diseases during 2007-08 at Rs.399.50
crores for NVBDCP, Rs.1341.48 crores for PPI and Rs.267.00 crores for TB. This
information was given by the Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Anbumani
Ramadoss in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha.
