According
to the latest observations by the India Meteorological Department, the
Southwest monsoon has further advanced today, the 27th June 2009, into entire Vidarbha, remaining parts of Talengana,
some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Orissa. The northern limit
of monsoon passes through (Lat. 23.0°N / Long. 60.0°E and Lat. 23.0°N / Long.
65.0°E), Bhuj, Baroda, Indore, Hosangabad,
Rajnandgaon, Cuttack, Balasore,
Bankura and Gangtok.
This
indicates that the conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon over some
more parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Orissa and remaining parts of
West Bengal & Sikkim and some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and East Uttar
Pradesh during next 2- 3 days.
Current Meteorological
Conditions are as follows:

An off shore
trough at mean sea level extends from north Konkan coast to Kerala
coast.
·
An upper air cyclonic
circulation in middle Tropospheric levels over west
central Bay of Bengal.
·
An upper air cyclonic circulation in
lower levels over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood.
·
Fairly widespread to
scattered rainfall has occurred over west Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, south
Orissa, Vidarbha and Telangana.
