On the direction of Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, an Emergency Control Room has been constituted today at Nirman Bhavan in New Delhi, which is headed by Dr. P. Ravinderan, Director, Emergency Medical Relief. The telephone Nos. of the Emergency Control Room are as under :- 1. 011-23017457 - Telefax 2. 011-23017302 The Union Health Ministry has deputed two Emergency Medical Relief Teams for Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andhra Pradesh. Dr. Badhrinath, Deputy Director General, is rushing to Pondicherry. Dr. Reddy, Deen, JIPMER, Pondicherry, will co-ordinate with the team for the emergency medical relief works. The other team will be headed by DDG Officer level. The Regional Director (CGHS), Chennai/Hyderabad will coordinate with the State Governments in relief operations. Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, who is on a foreign visit, is rushing back to India to visit the affected areas.
